A 36-year-old security guard, Henry Asuquo, has been charged before a Tinubu Chief Magistrate Court for allegedly raping his 15-year-old half-sister, he was arraigned on charges of rape, sexual harassment and assault, on Wednesday the prosecutor, Thomas told the court that the 15-year-old girl had been residing with the accused, since she was five, brought from the village to Lagos
Thomas said: “The accused has been sexually assaulting the girl on different occasions whenever his wife was not around, raping her and having anal sex with her
When the girl started reaching adolescent she started fighting back; since then the accused would beat her to a pulp for any slight mistake.
“On June 11, when he tried raping her again, the 15-year-old grabbed his scrotum.
“While he was writhing in pain, she had the opportunity to run to the nearest police station to report”.
When the charges against him were read, he pleaded not guilty to the crime,
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Kikelomo Ayeye, granted the bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties each in like sum for the accused and adjourned the case till July 5th for mention.
