Baby Oyintari Michael, whose genital was chopped off by his step grandfather in Bayelsa State was flown to India today, Wednesday August 2, for reconstructive surgery.
Recall that 59-year-old Keke Ziworitin, cut off the penis of Oyintari, his stepdaughter's son during a botched circumcision at Odenwari in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State in February. See previous report here: here
The Bayelsa State government through the wife of the governor, Mrs Rachael Dickson took the financial burden of baby Oyintari's healthcare and issued N6m cheque and other traveling documents to his parents to perform the surgery on him.
Oyintari who was 8months old at the time of the incident has been in the protective custody of Mrs Dickson and is now one year and two months old.
