while on a meeting of the National Executive Council of ASUU that took place in Abuja, on monday. Dr. Biodun Ogunyemi, The National President of the union, announced that, the Academic Staff Union of Universities has commenced an indefinite nationwide industrial action.
He said during the strike, there shall be no teaching, no examination and no attendance of statutory meetings of any kind in any of the union branches across the country .
it was declared today by Dr. Ogunyermi, that a total, comprehensive and indefinite nationwide strike would commence after a nationwide consultation with members at an emergency NEC meeting held on Saturday, August 12, 2017
