Reverend Father Cyriacus Onunkwo was kidnapped from his vehicle in Orlu town in Orlu Local Government Area on Friday morning by unknown gunmen.
According to the Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Chris Ezike, Onunkwo's lifeless body was discovered in a bush in Omuma Village in Orlu East Local Government Area on Saturday.
It was reported that the priest recently lost his dad and was traveling home to arrange his funeral when he was abducted at gunpoint. Rev. Fr. Cyriacus Onunkwo, who worked in Orlu diocese hailed from Osina, in the Ideato North LGA, Imo State.
