Paul Pogba has revealed his nickname in the Manchester United dressing room is 'The Joker' - but it's not after Batman's greatest villain.
Pogba's presence at United was felt almost immediately by teammates, who felt his and Zlatan Ibrahimovic's personalities introduced a more bullish mood to the playing staff.
The midfield extrovert was praised and criticised for his behaviour last season and Pogba ended a testing campaign with United's winner in the Europa League final against Ajax.
Pogba has spoken at length about returning to United in a recent interview and was asked to give United fans an insight into the dressing room.
"La Pioche. It means like 'The Joker'," Pogba told Esquire. "I took it. It's from a movie, but it wasn't used the same way."
But Pogba was quick to clarify the nickname is not derived from Batman's arch nemesis.
"In the film, it's a con man who tricked the village," he added. "I'm tricking you now. I'm doing the Pog Trick."
In a wide-ranging chat which included Pogba's thoughts on his first season back at United, handling the aftermath of the Arena attack as a Muslim in Manchester and coming to terms with his father's death, he was also asked some light-hearted questions.
United's worst dancer?
"Timothy Fosu-Mensah. Timo's the worst! He's funny."
The dressing room DJ?
"Er, Ashley Young, or me. DJ Pogs."
Is he a fan of Oasis or Stone Roses?
"The Manchester bands? Nah, I don't know, it's not my age."
